Wow, what a day! It really feels like summer has arrived in North Wales (actually across the country too). The temperatures have been in the 20's deg C all day and the sun has been shining, I can tell by looking at the rather red skin on my back!
After a spot of vehicle maintenance Amy and I popped up to Garreg Bengam Bach, a small single pitch crag in the Arddu area near Tremadog. Its a lovely little crag in a beautiful setting. Don't be fooled though, the routes are steeper and more sustained than they look! Quite a few of the routes were wet today after the heavy rain of a few days ago. But I didn't mind, it was just nice to be out in the sun.
We did Zeigeist E1 5b and Kong VS 4c, both nice routes on near perfect rock which follow well protected crack-lines. Small cams are particularly useful on the former.

In a moment of weakness a couple of weeks back I signed up to do
Ras y Moelwyn fell race next weekend. About 13Km and nearly 1000m of ascent. I'm excited and a little bit apprehensive about it. I do a fair bit of fell running but nearly always just for fun, I'm usually not too keen on competitions. Hopefully it will be fun, I'm planning on running the course or part of it (depending on how I feel) tomorrow. I'm looking forward, should be another scorching day, must remember sun cream!
