Nant Peris Exploring Fell Run

Yesterday I went out for a little fell run, I thought it would be fun to explore some new scrambling ground and get up high. Parking at the end of Llyn Padarn near Nant Peris I quested directly up to the Snowdon ridge past some slate quarries taking in some near vertical heather and moss in the progress! Ice axes were almost needed.. Not that I condone wet vegetation tooling!

Gaining the ridge I was rewarded with a bit of sun breaking through the clouds. I traversed the ridge for a while then dropped down another steep ridge back down to Nant Peris, I was glad of my studded fell running shoes on this super steep wet grassy descent!

Going out on this run reminded me of what I enjoy a lot about climbing, running and playing about in the mountains; the freedom to explore, discover new places, sights and limits.

Autumn Snowdon Horseshoe

Last weekend with some friends visiting we got out onto the Snowdon Horseshoe, it was great to get up high on the mountains with such good weather. I love the clarity and colours this time of year:

On the way down.. Sorry photos are on wrong order! Looking back up towards Lliwedd
